The advantages of rice-corn starch straws

The advantages of starch straws are mainly explained from the perspective of environmental protection, user experience and future development:

1. Biodegradable: This is its core advantage. The main raw material of starch straws comes from crops such as corn rice and cassava, and under household composting conditions, it can be completely broken down by microorganisms to carbon dioxide, water and organic matter in a short time (usually a few months), and will not form permanent waste.
2. Environment-friendly, reduce white pollution: As an ideal substitute for plastic straw, it can effectively reduce plastic waste that is difficult to degrade, avoid long-term pollution to the ocean, soil and ecological environment, protect wildlife from plastic products.
3. Raw materials are renewable: The raw material for its production (starch) comes from annual crops and can be continuously obtained through agricultural cultivation, unlike petroleum (the raw material for plastics) which is not a renewable resource.
4. Lower carbon production processes: Starch straw manufacturing processes typically use less energy, emit no greenhouse gases, and have a smaller carbon footprint than traditional plastic production, in line with environmental goals for energy conservation and emission reduction.
5. Use experience closer to plastic: Compared with paper straws, high-quality starch straws are less prone to softening, rotting or producing a pulp odor after prolonged immersion, which can better maintain the original flavor of the drink, providing users with a durable experience closer than traditional plastic straws.
6. High safety, non-toxic and harmless: usually made of food-grade raw materials, does not contain harmful chemical substances (such as bisphenol A), safe to use, can be used for hot and cold drinks.
7. Supporting the agricultural economy: Large-scale production of starch straw can consume more food raw materials, open new markets for the a farming sector, increase farmers’ income, and promote agricultural development.
8. Consistent with global plastic ban trends: With the implementation of “plastic bans” around the world, starch straws have good market prospects and policy compliance as a widely recognized and accepted environmentally friendly alternative.
9. The treatment is more diverse: even if accidentally discarded in the natural environment, it is much less difficult to degrade than plastic, and may be eaten by ants and other insects after a rain. In addition, it can also be treated by incineration, and because it comes from biomass, combustion produces relatively little pollution.
10. Enhance the environmental image of enterprises: The use of starch straws by catering enterprises can visually demonstrate to consumers their social responsibility and environmental commitment, enhance the brand image, and meet the expectations of more and more environmentally friendly consumers.
